NMDC Ltd may enter into rare earth minerals and beach sand mining, for which, the miner is planning to approach atomic mineral directorate (AMD) for necessary permissions. In beach sand mining, there are seven minerals called heavy minerals.

Plea to lift ban on sand mining in Tamil Nadu

Tamil Nadu government has been requested to lift the ban clamped on beach sand mining in the state. Workers dependent on beach mineral sand mining industry have urged the State government to restore their livelihood by lifting the ban on mining activity.
